CoARA space

ANECA actively participates in the transformation of research assessment and academic careers within the framework of the CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) agreement. This coalition is made up of more than 700 organizations, including universities, research centers, institutes, professional associations, public and private research funders, public and private accreditation and assessment agencies, scientific societies, etc., with the common goal of reforming the methods and processes by which research is assessed. This space gathers key information on the context, the actions undertaken and the monitoring of ANECA's actions in this transformation.

Learn more about ANECA's work in the framework of CoARA

ANECA promotes a new culture of assessment of research activity, in line with the principles of CoARA. To this end, it develops actions at three levels: 

  • Internal: incorporation of CoARA principles in its own assessment processes. 
  • National: promotion and coordination of the Spanish National Chapter and collaboration with other institutions to advance in a shared reform. 
  • International: participation in the European and global debate, and institutional representation in the Steering Board of CoARA.
