How are CoARA principles applied in ANECA's internal work?
ANECA incorporates CoARA principles in its evaluation and accreditation processes of teaching staff, adopting new criteria and ways of working. This implementation involves a continuous work of analysis, design and training, framed in its Action Plan.
These activities are developed in two key areas:
- Design of evaluation criteria and methodologies with the participation of research staff.
- Training and sensitization of ANECA's team and its evaluation staff.

Internal work actions within the framework of CoARA

Publication of the Action Plan in the framework of CoARA
This Action Plan 2024-2027 is a first proposal of internal and external activities to advance in the reform and thus improve the evaluation of scientific production in line with CoARA membership commitments.

Training of evaluators
Training sessions on the principles of CoARA and the reform of the evaluation system to the different ANECA Evaluation Commissions and Panels.

Evaluation Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan 2024-2027 (December 2024)
Initial evaluation of the first four months of implementation of the CoARA Action Plan by ANECA with the aim of aligning research evaluation systems in Spain with the principles of CoARA.

Evaluation Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan 2024-2027 (July 2025)
Second semester follow-up report in which the degree of progress in the implementation of the plan is analyzed, results obtained are identified, emerging challenges and facilitating factors are discussed, and proposals are made to guide the actions for the second year of execution.
