Evaluation of titles of the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain (FEREDE)
Regulations and scope of action
The Eleventh Final Provision of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System, in application of the provisions of the Cooperation Agreements between the State and the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain, approved by Law 24/1992, of November 10, will regulate the conditions for the recognition of academic degrees related to university-level theological education and training for ministers of worship, taught in higher education institutions dependent on the aforementioned religious entities.
ANECA has been commissioned by the Ministry responsible for Universities to evaluate the proposed degrees submitted by the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain (FEDERE). This evaluation will be carried out within the Committees that evaluate the Bachelor's and Master's degrees of the ANECA VERIFICA program.
Following ANECA's evaluation of FEREDE's degree proposals, the government published Royal Decree 1633/2011, of November 14, establishing the equivalency regime for university-level degrees taught at educational centers dependent on the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain. ANECA is entrusted with the monitoring and evaluation of degrees awarded by higher education centers or Protestant Theological Faculties dependent on the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain, which are recognized as having civil status.
