ANECA congratulates itself for the highly complex work carried out, and for the agility and simplification of the new system

On April 1, the new Procedure and Criteria for obtaining the state accreditation for university teaching bodies (University Professor and University Professor) came into force.

Since the approval of the Royal Decree 678/2023, of July 18, which regulates the state accreditation for the access to the university teaching bodies, ANECA has been taking the necessary steps to adapt the accreditation to PTU and CU to the Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, of the University System and to the above mentioned royal decree:

  • Constitution before January 1 of the 30 new accreditation commissions and the 5 new review commissions.
  • Approval of the new procedure, significantly more agile, for accreditation, in which clarifications are being introduced as a result of the consultations received.
  • Approval of the new criteria resulting from the public participation process carried out for the first time by ANECA.

For the submission of applications, the instructions contained in the help document 'How to submit an application' can be followed, adding the CVN and the rest of the minimum documents required in the procedure.

The CV to be submitted in the new ACADEMIA 2024 must be in CVN format: this implies not only its standardized structure, layout and appearance but also that the PDF stores the merits and their metadata in CVN format, which allows them to be read automatically and loaded automatically into a database. This CVN can be created with any editor certified by FECyT (list of certified editors: https://cvn.fecyt.es/servicios-cvn/instituciones-adaptadas-a-cvn), must be adapted to the merit structure described in the criteria document and must observe the limits on the number of merits in each section. In order to facilitate its generation, the CVN-ANECA option has been provided for the FECyT editor, which will allow the direct download in the required format.

ANECA is pleased with the implementation of the new accreditation system, which does not require documentary certification of each of the merits claimed - based on the principle of veracity - and which only requires the presentation and defense of a limited number of the contributions of the CV. All this will result not only in an important bureaucratic relief for the applicants, but also in a greater agility in the resolution of the applications and in the reduction of the response time of the accreditation commissions.
