Draft of the new PTU and CU accreditation criteria published (RD 678/2023)

ANECA publishes the draft of the new evaluation criteria and minimum reference requirements of the merits and competences required to obtain the state accreditation for access to university teaching bodies

In accordance with article 21.2 of Royal Decree 678/2023 of 18 July, which regulates state accreditation for access to university teaching bodies and the system of competitive examinations for access to positions in these bodies, ANECA will submit the criteria for the evaluation of merits and competences and the minimum reference requirements for a positive resolution to a "non-binding participation procedure" with the interested parties from the university and scientific community as a whole. This procedure will be enabled in the next few days and will be available until 29 February.

ANECA publishes this draft of the new accreditation criteria for PTU and CU after having made public, on 29 January, the Procedure for obtaining state accreditation for access to university teaching bodies.

This new evaluation model aims to guarantee, in accordance with article 21.3 of Royal Decree 678/2023, the adequacy of the merits required for the duration of the initial stage of the academic career established by Organic Law 2/2023, of 22 March, on the University System.

In application of the rules contained in article 21.1 and in the Annex of Royal Decree 678/2023, the merits and competences of research, including transfer and exchange of knowledge, teaching, leadership (for CU accreditation) and, where appropriate, those related to professional activity will be assessed.
