Quality Recognitions
The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), as the public body responsible for promoting and ensuring the quality of the Spanish university system in the international context, not only implements accreditation processes for “minimum common standards” of quality in the university sphere, but also voluntary guidance and certification processes, which constitute hallmarks for institutions aspiring to be recognized in specific areas.
Itineraries are established that facilitate the path to excellence, decided by each institution, and avoid “evaluation pressure.” The criteria for these recognitions are aligned with the evaluation criteria of the different processes, which ANECA develops in accordance with current regulations.
ANECA's Quality Unit manages the evaluation of Comprehensive Quality Recognition (RIC), which includes:
- ANECA's International Quality Seals (SIC) program.
- The CEA-APQ Quality Seals for Collections and Monographs from ANECA, FECYT, and UNE.
In addition, ANECA's Quality Unit oversees the quality management of the Engineers for Europe (E4E) project, funded by the European Commission, in which companies and universities from different countries participate.
