ANECA achieves for the fourth time the renewal of EQAR registration

  • 15/03/2023

On Tuesday 14th March ANECA received the communication from the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) of the renewal of the registration until 31st October 2027.

Access to the EQAR register

EQAR is the official register of quality agencies of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and includes those that substantially comply with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG). It currently has 55 registered quality agencies, which must undergo an external evaluation process every five years in order to remain in the EHEA.

In early March the EQAR committee reviewed ANECA's compliance with the ESG (European Standard and Guidelines) in order to renew its registration in the register, where it has been since 2007. The committee used as a basis for granting the renewal the content of the self-assessment report carried out by the Agency for External Evaluation of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the report prepared by the ENQA panel. ANECA was one of the first European agencies to obtain the renewal of its registration through a more specific review process (Targeted Review) initiated in 2021 for those agencies that had passed three previous evaluations.

With this renewal ANECA complies with the requirement established by the current regulations for the performance of the evaluation tasks carried out by the Agency, and sees its work recognised at European level.
