-
30/09/2024

From September 9 to the 30th, individual monographs that wish to opt for the CEA-APQ Seal of Quality in Academic Publishing may submit the corresponding application, following the rules and guidelines that are available on the website and that this year include new details and requirements. This quality recognition, which thus opens its second call, is open to all monographs published by public and private entities, which present research results and meet the nine requirements that have been established in terms of quality and information transparency (identification of the monograph, electronic availability and inclusion of metadata), quality of the editorial policy (availability of a scientific or editorial committee and editorial policy of the publishing entity) and quality of the editorial and scientific evaluation process (instructions for the presentation of manuscripts, information on the manuscript selection process, external evaluation reports and reasoned communication of the resolution to publish the work). Evaluation process: Five evaluation committees, one for each major area of knowledge (Science, Health Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Social and Legal Sciences and Art and Humanities), will be in charge of analyzing the documentation provided. All of them will be composed of a minimum of three specialists in the area and one expert in scientific editing. In addition, the Social and Legal Sciences and Arts and Humanities courses may be divided into subcommittees of four people each, depending on the number of applications. The Monitoring Committee, made up of representatives from ANECA, FECYT and UNE, will adopt the provisional and definitive resolutions after the report issued by the Evaluation Committee. The monographs that successfully pass the evaluation process will receive the CEA-APQ Monographs Quality Seal on a permanent basis.
___________
The CEA-APQ Seal, created and developed by UNE and endorsed by ANECA and FECYT, has been recognized, since its creation in 2017, as an indication of the quality of publications in the evaluation of research activity, a recognition carried out by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), and in the evaluation criteria for the research merits claimed for the different figures of accreditation of the teaching staff carried out by ANECA (See BOE of December 16, 2023).
