Governing Council

The GOVERNING COUNCIL is the collegiate governing body responsible for the control and monitoring of ANECA's activities and informing the different higher education stakeholders of those same activities.

Chaired by the Secretary General for Universities of the Ministry of Universities, the Governing Council is made up of nine members who reflect the importance and roles of our stakeholders, with the presence of representatives of students, trade unions, the conference of university social councils, the national confederation of business organisations, and a representative of regional government administration with responsibility for university education.

Composition of the Governing Council of ANECA

The composition of the Governing Council of ANECA (updated as of 15 March 2021) is, in application of Article 11 of RD 1112/2015, as follows:

    Jose Manuel Pingarrón, Secretary General for Universities of the Ministry of Universities.

  • Secretary

    Pilar Paneque Salgado, Director of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA).

  • Members

    • Marta Pascual Sáez, General Director of Universities and University Policy of the Regional Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Universities. Autonomous Community of Cantabria.
    • Ángel Pazos Carro, Rector of the University of Cantabria.
    • Enrique Sanz Giménez-Rico, Rector of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas.
    • Miguel Ángel Acosta Rodríguez, Secretary General of the Conference of Social Councils of Spanish Universities.
    • Francisco Javier Ramos Pardo, representing FECCOO.
    • Ana Leal Castilla, representing the CEOE.
    • Marc Artigas Martín, second vice-president of the Council of University Students of the State (CEUNE).
