06/10/2025
During the month of September 2025, 993 applications for accreditation submitted as of April 1, April 2024 have been evaluated, in accordance with the new procedure regulated by RD 678/2024.
It is important to note that the average resolution period has dropped to 6.1 months since their submission (in May it was 10.2 months, in June 8.7 months and in July 7.4 months). Since February, when the first collegiate sessions of the new procedure were held, the rate of resolution of the commissions has reduced the average evaluation time since an application for accreditation was submitted. With the above data, it can be affirmed that ANECA is making decisive progress towards the objective that in no commission the waiting time exceeds 6 months: we have already achieved it in 11 commissions.
As it was being done in the previous procedure, and having already data of negative resolutions of the new accreditation procedure, we started to publish from June the success rate of the applicants, and the corrected success rate (discounting the withdrawals after the communication of a negative decision). In summary, in September the average success rate for tenured professors was 74% (76% of women and 82% of men were accredited), while the average success rate for accreditations to professorships was 92%, slightly higher for women.
By publishing these data, the effective work of the commissions is reported, and furthermore, progress continues to be made in a more transparent communication of ANECA's activity.
