The University of Extremadura renews the Institutional Accreditation of two of its centers

  • 10/02/2026

In January 2026, the Council of Universities proceeded to renew the institutional accreditation of the Faculty of Sciences and the School of Industrial Engineering at the UEX. Institutional Accreditation is based on the certification of the Center's Internal Quality Assurance System, focusing, among other aspects, on how the center reviews and improves its degrees. This process serves to relieve the pressure of evaluating each degree individually.
With these centers, the University of Extremadura has now renewed the institutional accreditation of nine of its centers.

  • Faculty of Nursing and Occupational Therapy
  • ETS. of Agricultural Engineering
  • Faculty of Business, Finance, and Tourism
  • Faculty of Sports Sciences
  • Faculty of Teacher Training
  • Plasencia University Center
  • Mérida University Center
  • School of Industrial Engineering
  • Faculty of Sciences

The institutional accreditation process involves an initial institutional accreditation phase and, within six years of that accreditation, a renewal phase. This accreditation renewal will be cyclical, occurring every six years. In this procedure, ANECA may agree with universities to carry out continuous monitoring of the institutional accreditation of institutionally accredited centers.
