There have been published in BOE the call for six-year research periods 2023 and the composition of the evaluation committees

The Resolution of December 18, 2023, of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), which appoints members of the Advisory Committees of the National Commission for Assessment of Research Activity (CNEAI), has been published in the BOE of December 22, as well as the Resolution of December 19, 2023, of the General Secretariat of Universities, which approves the call for evaluation of research activity. 

As we had already announced, the Council of Universities approved, at its meeting on December 18, the composition of the advisory committees that will evaluate the call for six-year research periods of 2023, which has already been published in the BOE, and which presents the novelty of incorporate an Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Field 0.

In addition, the 2023 call has been published, which details the requirements that applicants must meet, the deadline for submitting applications (from January 22 to February 12, 2024), as well as the documentation that must be submitted.

Given the new features presented in this year's Evaluation Criteria Resolution, it is detailed what must be presented for each contribution:

  • The data that is necessary for your identification.
  • A persistent identifier (DOI, Handle, ARK, SWHID, or, in general, a Permanent unique URI/URL).
  • Only in the case of publications that are not in open access, the PDF file of said contributions, so that the evaluation work is facilitated to the advisory committees.
  • Only in essential cases, the PDF file justifying the contribution of in accordance with what is indicated in the Resolution of December 5, 2023, of  the National Commission for Assessment of Research Activity, by which the criteria are published for the evaluation of the research activity (purchase or license contract In the case of patents, evidence that allows identifying the object of evaluation in the case of artistic or creative contributions, etc.).

Likewise, in addition to a summary of each contribution, the applicant must accompany the "indications of relevance and impact" of the research, which may consist of:

  1. Contribution of the contribution to the progress of knowledge (originality, innovation, thematic priority, contribution to the scientific debate, methodological contribution, among others).
  2. Scientific impact of the contribution (use and reading, references made by other authors, quality, internationalization and impact of the media, among others).
  3. Social impact of the contribution (use and reading on non-academic platforms, non-academic or social mentions, interactions on social media or platforms, contribution to public policies, among others).
  4. Contribution of the contribution to open science (degree of openness, compliance with FAIR principles in data sets, contribution to free software, diversity of repositories used for deposit, among others).
