Tomorrow, 21 December, the ANECA 2022 Hélice Awards for Academic Quality will be presented at the Agency's headquarters by José Manuel Pingarrón Carrazón, Secretary General for Universities, and Mercedes Siles Molina, Director of ANECA, in a ceremony hosted by the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo. The names of the prize-winners, selected from among the almost 60 nominations submitted, will not be made public until then.

This is the second edition of these awards, which are a recognition of the commitment to the values of Academic Quality, with which the commitment of the teaching staff, the student body and the technical, management and administration and services staff to the principles of ethics and public responsibility, equity, academic integrity, equality, inclusion and transparency is highlighted and acknowledged. These last two modalities have been added this year as a novelty in the Agency's open call. In each category there will be one male and one female award winner. Nominations are submitted by the universities.

The jury is made up of the Minister for Universities and the Director of ANECA. Their decision was based on the technical assessment of the candidatures presented, drawn up by a Technical Committee made up of the following members:

  • President: José Ángel Domínguez Pérez, Director of the Teaching and Institutional Assessment Division of ANECA.
  • Secretary: Asunción López López, manager of ANECA.
