The Programme for the Evaluation of Contracted Teaching Staff receives 4,014 applications in April

This is almost four times the number received during the same month in 2022 (1,116).
ANECA's programme for the Evaluation of Contracted Teaching Staff (PEP) for the positions of Assistant Professor Doctor (PAD), Contracted Professor Doctor (PCD) and Private University Professor (PUP) has received a total of 9,066 applications from 1 January 2023 to 30 April. In the whole year 2022, 14,727 applications were received for this programme.
The increase detected during these months of 2023 is mainly due to the files received in the month of April (4,014), just before the entry into force of the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU). This is related to the decision of the General Secretariat for Universities, announced on 30 March, that accreditation as a PAD could not be requested by the interested parties after the LOSU came into force, and therefore could not be carried out by the quality assessment agencies.
