ANECA course on quality assurance and recognition of studies at the UIMP

  • 29/07/2022

ANECA is organising, from 5 to 7 September, a course on 'Quality assurance and recognition of university and higher education studies in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the European Union', within the programme of activities that the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) will hold throughout the summer of 2022 at its headquarters in the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander.

The course, for which registration is now open, will analyse the key elements of quality assurance systems in higher education as an element to facilitate international recognition of study periods and university degrees.

In particular, it will address the comparability between quality criteria and guidelines in different countries, and how quality assurance procedures contribute to building society's trust in universities and higher education institutions. In this context, institutional accreditation, which can encompass internal quality assurance systems, where they are sufficiently mature, is presented as an essential element that facilitates the recognition and mobility of graduates. The course is also a meeting forum around the quality of higher education in Ibero America and Europe, where the Quality Assurance Systems report for the recognition of periods of study and higher education degrees in Ibero America will be presented. Study of the context of the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States [EU-CELAC], carried out by ANECA for the General Secretariat for Ibero America (SEGIB) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
