ACADEMIA program review committees

  • 03/02/2025

As announced in November, three of the five review committees regulated by article 25 of Royal Decree 678/2023 have been restructured. The appointment of the new members made by the Director of ANECA will soon be sent to the BOE.

In order to distribute the workload of the review committees more efficiently, which should not be organized by branches of knowledge, the Science and Health Sciences committees have been merged into Review Committee 1 and the Social and Legal Sciences committee has been divided into Committees 3 and 4. In this way, claims filed against negative resolutions of Accreditation Committee 0 (Interdisciplinary) may be reported by any of the five review committees.

  • Review Committee 1: areas of knowledge of Science and Health Sciences.
  • Review Committee 2: areas of knowledge of Engineering and Architecture.
  • Review Committee 3: areas of knowledge of Law and Education Sciences.
  • Review Committee 4: areas of knowledge of Economic and Business Sciences, Social Sciences and Behavioral Sciences.
  • Review Committee 5: areas of knowledge of Art and Humanities.

The new committees will be established in February so that they can quickly resolve the claims filed against negative resolutions of the accreditation committees, issued in recent months, and those that continue to be submitted to the Council of Universities.
