The director of ANECA, Mercedes Siles Molina, together with José María Nyssen González, ANECA's Project Manager for Studies and Reports, are in Stockholm for the ENQA General Assembly.

Asamblea ENQA

The meeting, held in Stockholm (Sweden), was organized by ENQA in cooperation with the Swedish Higher Education Authority -UKÄ-, from October 26 to 28.

The program of the event, on the one hand, provides a space for all the quality agencies represented to reflect and discuss important challenges in the current quality landscape in higher education. These challenges include global cooperation in quality assurance, as well as those related to academic integrity, quality assurance in e-learning, and the recognition of teaching and its relation to quality assurance.

A session is also dedicated to jointly addressing future perspectives of the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) in view of their upcoming revision.

On the other hand, issues related to the functioning of the organization itself are addressed. Thus, one part of the assembly sessions will be devoted to the presentation of candidacies and voting for members of ENQA's management team, including the posts of president and vice-president of the organization. Another session will focus on the presentation of ENQA's activity report and budget execution for the last period, and the work plan for the year 2023 and related budget. Among the priorities of this plan are the following:

  • To actively promote the future development of the European quality assurance framework.
  • Ensuring and demonstrating the added value of ENQA membership and affiliation.
  • Improve ENQA's profile as an expert body in European external quality assurance.
  • Improve the communication and visibility of ENQA's work and that of its members and affiliates.
