ANECA and the University of La Rioja launch the first ANECA Space

ANECA and the University of La Rioja have signed today an agreement for the implementation of what will be the first ANECA Space in a Spanish university. The event took place at ANECA's headquarters with its director, Mercedes Siles Molina, as hostess and was attended by the Rector of the University of La Rioja, Juan Carlos Ayala Calvo, as well as their respective teams.

The Espacio ANECA initiative consists of generating a physical or virtual meeting space within higher education and research institutions, where to promote the culture of quality and the generation of talent, connecting the policies and improvement strategies of each institution, with ANECA's evaluation, certification and accreditation programmes, as well as with all the Agency's initiatives, from a perspective of proximity, anticipation, innovation, transparency and internationalisation.

This space offers a public service of dissemination and information, aimed at students, teaching and research staff and technical, management and administration and services staff, as well as all those interested in the promotion and assurance of quality in the activities of the institution. It also offers training, guidance and support services, aimed at the groups that make up the governing and management bodies of the institution.

Espacio ANECA was created, along with other initiatives in 2021, with the aim of promoting transparency and communication of its actions and thus fostering proximity to universities, higher education and research centres, as well as to the people who make up the university, educational and research community, with the aim of promoting initiatives to improve institutions and academic and scientific careers. 

The generation of the space at the University of La Rioja takes place after a pilot experience developed throughout the academic year 2021-2022 and now, in the academic year 2022-2023, this initiative is effectively implemented in the same university, through a collaboration agreement signed for this purpose.
