The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) has updated its protocol for action against harassment to adapt it to the provisions of Royal Decree 247/2024, of March 8, which approves the Protocol for action against sexual harassment and harassment based on sex in the field of the General State Administration and its public bodies. This protocol is part of ANECA's Equality Plan, whose general objective is to guarantee equal treatment and opportunities for women and men in access, selection, hiring, promotion, training, conciliation, occupational health, as well as preventing situations of sexual and/or gender-based harassment, and gender violence.
Through this Protocol, ANECA firmly expresses its rejection of all types of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex, in all its forms and modalities, and undertakes to guarantee the right of ANECA employees and collaborators to receive respectful and dignified treatment and to promote and maintain a tolerant and discrimination-free organisational culture. As a preventive measure, ANECA establishes mechanisms to inform, raise awareness and train all staff on the conduct that constitutes sexual harassment and harassment based on sex and the personal and professional consequences of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex for the person who suffers it and the consequences for the person who carries it out.
In addition, procedures are established to investigate and sanction, where appropriate, any conduct that may constitute sexual harassment and/or harassment based on sex; and to protect, support and advise victims of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex. Any ANECA employee has the obligation to report any cases of possible sexual harassment or harassment based on sex that they are aware of. To this end, ANECA has created the Harassment Prevention Unit, which is the unit responsible for receiving communications about the activation of the Protocol at ANECA. The person responsible for this Unit is the person in charge of the ANECA Directorate. Requests for the activation of the protocol must be addressed to acoso@aneca.es. They can also be channelled through the inbox acoso@ciencia.gob.es.
This protocol will apply to ANECA staff, regardless of their employment or professional category, location and provision of services, but also to people who, without having an employment relationship, provide services or collaborate with ANECA, such as evaluators, people in training, people who do work and non-work placements or those who carry out any type of similar collaboration.
