ANECA approves its new Strategic Plan 2025-2030

The Director of ANECA, Pilar Paneque, has approved the new Strategic Plan 2025-2030 of the autonomous agency, after its presentation to the members of the Governing Council in the session held on September 26th. This document marks the Agency's fourth planning cycle and will guide its activity until 2030.

With the motto ‘Quality assurance with social value’, the new Strategic Plan is the result of a process of reflection, analysis and participation, both internal and external, which began in October 2024. Since then, ANECA's Management has worked on the design of a Strategic Plan adapted to the new legislative and regulatory framework derived from the entry into force of the Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22nd, on the University System (LOSU), as well as to the changing institutional and international context.

The process of elaboration of the Strategic Plan 2025-2030 has involved the participation of all ANECA's staff and numerous stakeholders, including representatives of universities, social councils, student, trade union and business organizations, members of commissions and evaluation committees of the Agency, organizations of young researchers, organizations specialized in gender, and administrations dedicated to disability. The members of the Governing Council, including representatives of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Autonomous Communities, also participated.

The new Strategic Plan 2025-2030 represents a significant simplification with respect to the previous plan, with the aim of making it a useful, agile and truly transformative strategic management tool. Along these lines, three strategic objectives have been defined: the first two are aimed at strengthening ANECA's contribution to the system and to society, and the third focused on ensuring that the Agency's own organization is aligned to provide an effective response to the previous two.

Strategic Objectives:

1. To consolidate ANECA as a guarantor of the quality and continuous improvement of the university ecosystem, research and knowledge transfer. 
2. To strengthen ANECA's role as a model of public service, promoting inter-institutional collaboration and orienting its actions towards the creation of social value.
3. To promote an open, innovative and sustainable ANECA, with a responsible, resilient and trust-building organization.

The ultimate purpose of this Plan is to strengthen ANECA's role as a guarantor of quality, continuous improvement and transformation of the university, research and knowledge transfer system, as well as to increase the social impact of its activity.
