  • 21/03/2024

Since 11 March, 8 new universities from 4 universities have obtained initial institutional accreditation after a positive evaluation of their application. These are the following centres:

  • University of Extremadura:
    • Faculty of Education and Psychology
    • Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
  • University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
    • Faculty of Veterinary Science
    • School of Engineering and Telecommunications
  • Cardenal Herrera University - CEU
    • Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences
    • Faculty of Health Sciences - Castellón Campus
  • University of Alicante
    • Higher Polytechnic School
    • Faculty of Philosophy and Arts

Through the Institutional Accreditation programme, ANECA evaluates applications for institutional accreditation of university centres. Royal Decree 420/2015, of 29 May, established the institutional accreditation of centres as an alternative to the accreditation model for official university Bachelor's and Master's degrees. The publication of Royal Decree 640/2021 reinforces the role of institutional accreditation, extending it to doctoral programmes.
