8,032 six-year periods for teaching staff resolved

  • 18/07/2025

The plenary session of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), held on July 18, resolved (by agreement) the evaluation of the six-year periods for teaching staff announced by universities in the 2024 call for research six-year periods. The number of applications was higher than last year, reaching 8,000 (more than for civil servants).

Of the total number of sections submitted for evaluation, 95.87% received a favorable evaluation (practically the same as in the 2023 call), and only in three fields did the percentage of positive results fall below 90%. The results were very similar between women (96.18% positive) and men (95.58% positive), with women achieving better results in six fields. The only notable exception, which will be analyzed in depth, is field 6.3 (Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Urban Planning), where the success rate for women was 78.57%, compared to 89.24% for men.

The evaluations of the six-year periods of contract staff will be communicated to the convening universities next week, for resolution by the corresponding Rector.

The plenary session also accepted the notification to teaching and research staff who had requested it in this 2024 call for applications of the validation of six-year periods granted as contract staff, already positively evaluated by the CNEAI plenary session itself in previous calls for applications. The administrative review of these applications is being completed to verify that they were requested by civil servants as of December 31, 2024, and all notifications are expected to be sent out before September.

As announced last month, once the evaluation of the regular call (civil servants) and the agreement call (contract staff) has been completed, an assessment will be made of the call as a whole and the application of the 2024 evaluation criteria. Greater participation by women and the consolidation of Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Field 0 have been confirmed.
