One of the most outstanding aspects of ANECA's activity is international collaboration, also in the Latin American environment. For this reason, during the second week of October, Irene Ramos Vielba, advisory member of the ANECA board, attended several institutional activities in the Republic of Chile on behalf of this Agency.
On October 7, an institutional visit was made in Santiago de Chile to the National Accreditation Commission (CNA), whose mission is the promotion, evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions, their courses and programs, according to a set of established standards, criteria and indicators. The president of CNA, Andrés Bernasconi Ramírez; the vice president, Érika Castillo Barrientos; the executive secretary, Renato Bartet Zambrano, and staff from the secretariat participated in this institutional meeting. Both ANECA and CNA are part of the Ibero-American System for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (SIACES), aimed at promoting cooperation between the respective national systems for the evaluation and accreditation of higher education.
The National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) has also received an institutional visit, in which Irene Ramos met with Patricia Muñoz Palma, deputy director of Networks, Strategy and Knowledge. ANID manages research development programs in all areas of knowledge, technological development and scientific-technological innovation; among its lines of action, it launched the InES Open Science competition in 2021, aimed at generating capacities in Chilean universities for the management of scientific knowledge in accordance with open access policies.
As part of this institutional representation in the field of international cooperation, Irene Ramos Vielba participated in the II Open Science Workshop: “Path towards open innovation”, held in Santiago de Chile on October 8 and 9, organized by the Autonomous University of Chile - InES Open Science, InES Gender, Engineering2030 projects and the Transfer and Licensing Office - and on October 10 in the seminar “Open innovation and university” at the Temuco headquarters of the same university.
