For access to civil servant teaching bodies (ACADEMIA procedure)

As announced last 20th December during the presentation of the new evaluation criteria of the ACADEMIA procedure for the Health Sciences branch, the improvement project designed by ANECA for this branch of knowledge included the reorganisation of its three commissions with a double objective:

  • Rebalance the volume of dossiers received by each committee in order to reduce the time taken to resolve dossiers.
  • Design groupings of areas as closely related as possible to improve their degree of adaptation to the context, in terms of the profiles and academic careers being assessed.

The areas that have been reorganised are:

  • The area of Pathological Anatomy, currently in commission B6_Biomedical Sciences, will become part of the new commission B7_Clinical Medicine and Medical-Surgical Specialities.
  • The area of Comparative Anatomy and Pathology, currently in committee B6_Biomedical Sciences, will become part of the new committee B8_Health Specialities.
  • The area of Stomatology, which is currently in committee B7_Clinical Medicine and Clinical Specialities, will become part of the new committee B8_Health Specialities.
  • And finally, the areas of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacology and Preventive Medicine and Public Health, which are currently in commission B8_Health Specialities, will become part of the new commission B6_Biomedical Sciences and Related Clinical Specialities.

The restructuring of the Health Sciences assessment committees, which have adapted their names to the specialities they include, has been set out in Ministerial Order UNI/419/2023, of 17 April, published in the BOE of 28 April 2023, which will come into force on 28 June. From this date, applications may only be submitted in accordance with the new composition of areas established by this Ministerial Order.

Applications submitted before 28 June may be reinstated, at the request of the interested party, from the committee in which they were registered to the committee in which the area of knowledge affected by the changes made is now located. For example, applications submitted before 28 June in the area of Pathological Anatomy, assigned to commission B6_Biomedical Sciences, will be readmitted to Commission B7_Clinical Medicine and Medical-Surgical Specialities, if the applicant opts for this readmission.

In order to make it easier for applicants to decide whether or not to request reattachment, the conditions that will apply to them and the procedure to be followed are set out below:

  • The original date of the file will always be respected, i.e. the date on which the application was signed in the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training https://sede.educacion.gob.es/tramite/login/plogin.jjspy and, therefore, the administrative procedure was initiated. This date also determines whether or not the application of ANECA's resolution on the possibility of having a double evaluation, both for the 2019 criteria and for the new 2022 criteria, is applicable. All those applications submitted before 20 January 2023 and not finalised are automatically eligible for this double review. We remind you of the current approximate deadlines for the evaluation of the commissions, so that interested persons, knowing their application date, can make approximate calculations of what it would mean to be evaluated by one or the other commission. These are: 3 months for B6, 6 months for B7 and 9 months for B8.
  • As for the administrative procedure to apply for reattachment, this should be done in the following way:

To apply for re-assignment, simply send a simple letter, via the Common Electronic Register (REC) accessible at https://rec.redsara.es/, in which you state your wish to reassign your application still being processed, identifying it by the barcode at the top, to the corresponding committee.

It is advisable to accompany the communication you submit to request the reassignment of your file (and thus speed up its processing) with a brief summary of the selection of merits according to the criteria of the new committee in which your file will now be evaluated. This letter should be submitted through the Common Electronic Register (REC) accessible at https://rec.redsara.es/.
