ANECA discusses with social partners the implementation of an employability label

  • 31/05/2023

The Agency has met with CEOE, CEPYME, UGT and CCOO

Within the strategy of evaluation and certification programmes, the Agency includes the creation of a seal of quality in employability and entrepreneurship aimed at universities. Complementary to the accreditation processes, this seal of excellence seeks to recognise the work of universities through the assessment of their various actions in terms of graduate employment.

Given the undeniable importance for students and society of improving employability and entrepreneurship, as well as the key role of universities in this area, ANECA seeks to strengthen its collaboration with key social agents. In this sense, a meeting was held at the Agency's headquarters with Juan Carlos Tejeda, Director of Education and Training of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE); Miguel Canales, Head of Training and Prevention of the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME); Sebastián Pacheco, Confederal Secretary of Training of the General Union of Workers (UGT) and Vicente Sánchez, Secretary of Strategic Transitions and Territorial Development of Comisiones Obreras (CCOO).

ANECA was represented by its Director, Pilar Paneque; the Director of the Teaching and Institutional Assessment Division, José Luis Aznarte; and the Head of the Internationalisation and Studies Unit, José María Nyssen.

The proposed quality label evaluation model is the result of consensus work by a large number of universities, different stakeholders and a large team of experts.

During the meeting, after the presentation by ANECA of the importance and relevance of this initiative, both the employers' and trade union representatives present welcomed it and expressed their interest in taking joint steps to move forward, at the proposal of the Agency, in a pilot call for the new label.
