Following a favorable evaluation by ANECA, the Council of Universities has decided to grant the Mieres Polytechnic School initial institutional accreditation.
Institutional accreditation is based on the certification of the institution’s own Internal Quality Assurance System, as well as on the evaluation of the degree programs offered there. This process serves to alleviate the evaluation pressure associated with program-by-program accreditation. Institutional accreditation must be renewed every 6 years (more information at this link).
With this institution, the University of Oviedo has now achieved institutional accreditation for 8 of its institutions:
- Gijón Polytechnic School of Engineering
- Higher School of Civil Marine Engineering
- Faculty of Law
- Jovellanos Faculty of Commerce, Tourism, and Social Sciences
- Padre Ossó Faculty
- Faculty of Teacher Training and Education
- School of Computer Engineering
- Mieres Polytechnic School
