During the first quarter of 2026, ANECA worked in collaboration with experts in the fields of Medicine, General Health Psychology, Architecture, Technical Architecture, and Occupational Therapy to review the resolutions outlining the evaluation criteria applicable to the recognition of foreign degrees in these professions.
The result of this work has been the updating and publication of these resolutions on the ANECA website, which include new clarifications that may assist both experts and applicants during the evaluation process.
These criteria provide assurance to all stakeholders, as they ensure transparency in the evaluation process while guaranteeing greater consistency in the reports issued by the Agency.
Regarding this data, it is worth noting that all pending cases are within the evaluation deadlines established by current legislation.
In addition to the evaluation work, ANECA has reviewed, at the Ministry’s request, the documentation for a total of 550 engineering cases subject to general measures for identifying the specific associated technology. With this information, the Ministry can issue the approval for the recognition of the corresponding degree.
ANECA remains committed to streamlining procedures for the recognition and equivalence of foreign degrees and to improving the clarity of the criteria applied. The updating of resolutions, the technical review of files, and the transparent publication of information demonstrate the Agency’s role as a public service dedicated to ensuring that each process is carried out with the highest possible quality, rigor, and predictability.
