On February 28th, the participation process for teachers and students carried out through the ANECA participation platform (https://participa.aneca.es/docentia) ended.
This consultation is one of the last milestones of the process of updating and revising the DOCENTIA programme in which the different interested actors (agencies, universities, teachers and students) have participated and which has allowed us to know their opinions on the evaluation of teaching and their proposals, as well as to know their expectations and specific needs.
Specifically, the students have sent 39 contributions and proposals on four aspects of the evaluation of teaching activity: student participation, tools for evaluation, their consequences or their dissemination. Some of the topics addressed, in relation to the quality of teaching, have been the effective evaluation of learning, feedback from the evaluation and guidelines for improving learning or the expansion of the consequences of the evaluation.
As regards the teaching staff, 127 proposals were received on four aspects of the evaluation of the quality of teaching: the purpose of the evaluation of teaching, the most appropriate tools and its consequences and the training of the teaching staff.
Some of the questions raised by the participants were related to student surveys (elements to be assessed, weight of the survey in the scale, application procedure, etc.), the assessment of different aspects (such as the orientation of final degree projects, attention to Erasmus students, the gender perspective or the inclusion of the assessment of other teachers of the degree or area, etc.), the publication and assessment of open teaching material, recognition through salary supplements or support for the teaching staff (with mentoring, etc.) for their improvement.
At ANECA we would like to thank all the contributions received and the interest aroused by this process in the university community, which will help us to make the most appropriate revisions, updates and adjustments, as well as to guide decision-making on the programme.
