The following data pertains to cases received, reports issued, and pending cases in the second quarter of 2026: a period during which 4,583 reports were issued, marking the highest number of reports issued in a single quarter since ANECA launched the program in 2015. It is also worth noting that, so far this year, the Agency has issued a number of reports equivalent to 73% of those issued in 2025.
These figures accurately reflect the increase in resources allocated to the program throughout 2025, as well as the tremendous commitment and effort of both internal staff and evaluators.
Regarding these figures, it should be noted that all pending cases are within the evaluation deadlines established by current legislation.
In addition to its evaluation work, ANECA has reviewed, at the Ministry’s request, the documentation for a total of 323 cases in the field of engineering subject to general measures for identifying the specific technology involved. With this information, the Ministry can issue the approval for the corresponding degree program.
It should also be noted that, in this second quarter, the Agency issued 28 reports following the review of the corresponding appeals at the request of the Subdirectorate General for Appeals.
Finally, it is worth noting that ANECA continues to work with experts from various professions to review the resolutions that outline the evaluation criteria applicable to the recognition of foreign degrees in this profession. In this regard, during this quarter, the resolution regarding the dental profession has been updated and published on ANECA’s website; it includes new clarifications that may be helpful to both experts and applicants during the evaluation process.
These criteria provide assurance to all parties, as they ensure transparency in the evaluation process and guarantee greater consistency in the reports issued by ANECA.
