ANECA Publishes Consolidated Guidelines for the ACADEMIA Program's Accreditation Committees

  • 06/07/2026

The Agency makes available to all interested parties the latest instructions addressed to the ACADEMIA program’s accreditation committees regarding the implementation of the procedure governed by Royal Decree 678/2023. The document compiles and systematizes the established guidelines that the committees have been applying, as directed by ANECA’s leadership, since the launch of the new accreditation model, thereby strengthening the transparency, consistency, and legal certainty of the evaluation process.

This information allows applicants to better understand how merits are assessed, what the requirements are for receiving a favorable evaluation, and how decisions must be justified. It also reaffirms ANECA’s commitment to an evaluation based on the quality of academic trajectories, the use of narrative CVs, and the principles promoted by the Coalition for the Advancement of Research Assessment (CoARA).
With this initiative, ANECA takes another step forward in its commitment to transparency and the continuous improvement of accreditation processes, facilitating a consistent application of criteria across all committees and strengthening the university community’s trust in the evaluation system.
