81% of the accreditations for doctoral assistantships and 65% for doctoral contracts have received positive evaluations

Eight out of ten (81%) applications for the accreditation of doctoral assistant professors have been positively evaluated, according to the performance report of the eight PEP Programme committees in the first quarter of 2022. In the case of the evaluation of dossiers for the accreditation of doctors contracted as teaching staff, the success rate is 65%, and for private university teaching staff, 62%. The  time taken to decide on a file is one to five months, with an average of four months, depending on the evaluation committee.

91% of tenure and 80% of chair accreditation evaluations have been positive

In the first quarter of 2022, 8 out of 10 applications for chair accreditation (80%) have received a positive evaluation report. By gender, there is a percentage difference in favour of men, who receive a positive assessment in 82% of the applications compared to 76% of those submitted by women.

ANECA-AECID Conference: ANECA's contribution to International Development Cooperation

Based on the General Action Protocol that ANECA and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) signed at the end of 2021, both institutions have intensified their collaboration and promoted joint projects. To raise awareness of the extensive training and technical assistance possibilities offered by this partnership, an information session was held on 31 March.

The Minister of Universities to participate in the meeting of the Spanish Network of Quality Agencies scheduled by ANECA 

The Spanish Network of Quality Agencies (REACU) will hold its next meeting at the ANECA headquarters in Madrid on 28 and 29 April. The meeting, the first to be held after the declaration of the State of Alarm on 14 March 2020, is organised by ANECA as coordinator of the network during 2022, and will be attended by the Minister for Universities, Joan Subirats Humet. 

University Education Evaluation Protocol

The organisation of university education and the procedure for quality assurance is regulated by Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September, which establishes the accreditation model for official degrees in the Spanish university system and its stages.

The Government approves a supplementary appropriation to extend ANECA's office space 

The acquisition of an area of 440.29 m2 in the same building as the headquarters is authorised.

ANECA presents its policy of equality, social inclusion and academic integrity at the International Congress on Inclusive Education

The advances made by ANECA to promote inclusion in the Spanish university system were the focus of the speech given by the director of the Agency, Mercedes Siles Molina, at the 18th International Congress and 38th Conference on Universities and Inclusive Education, held at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) on 6 April, which was also attended by the Minister for Universities, Joan Subirats Humet.

Request for training from the Combined Arms School of the Colombian National Army 

ANECA has received a request to initiate a training collaboration from the Combined Arms School of the Colombian National Army.

ANECA, at the CREUP assembly

ANECA's Teaching and Institutional Assessment team has shared with students from 31 public universities a panel dedicated to the connection of Institutional Accreditation, through the AUDIT INTERNATIONAL programme, within the programme of the 71st CREUP Assembly, at the University of Alcalá de Henares held on April 5th.

ANECA participates in the Eramus+ MOTIVE project in Vietnam

The Agency, which is part of the MOTIVE network of promoting organisations, is involved in capacity building activities, training courses and workshops for Vietnamese university staff.
