ANECA's Governing Council met on the 13th of October, under the chairmanship of the Secretary-General of Universities, José Manuel Pingarrón Carrazón. Mercedes Siles Molina recalled the meetings held in September with the Minister of Universities, the Secretary-General of Universities, and the Undersecretary of Universities, to discuss matters related to the Agency. In her speech, she highlighted that “coordination between ANECA and the Ministry on approval and equivalence issues and on matters related to the new regulations, FPU contracts, and internationalisation, etc., is positive.” She also pointed out that she has also carried out institutional visits to the Public University of Navarra and the universities of Navarra and La Rioja. Visits to the Universities of the Basque Country, Cádiz, Pablo de Olavide (Seville), Huelva, Burgos and Valladolid is also on the agenda.
In addition, she also mentioned that the Education and Institution Evaluation Division is working on aligning criteria for all its programs, including the International Audit, Docentia (Teaching Performance Assessment Programme) and the addition of Seals of Quality. Finally, she explained the Agency’s main plans of action for the coming months.
