Lebanese study visit to ANECA

On 13-15 February, Ahmad Jammal, Director General of Higher Education in Lebanon, along with a group of academics from 11 Lebanese universities, took part in a study visit to ANECA in order to be trained as expert assessors within the framework of the Tempus Project ‘Towards the Lebanese Quality Assurance Agency’ (TLQAA).

This project aims to offer technical support to create a Quality Assurance Agency in Lebanon, in the context of the reforms that the Lebanese Ministry of Education & Higher Education is implementing to set up a quality evaluation system in universities.

Subsequent to the definition of a quality assurance model, criteria and procedures of the quality framework put together along the first year of the Project, this last meeting gave the group the opportunity to prepare the next phase of the Project, which means carrying out pilot assessment of the four partner universities as a part of their training as experts, enabling comparison of the model.
