ANECA has signed mutual recognition agreements with different international quality assurance agencies.
Mutual recognition of accreditation decisions allows the positive accreditation of a degree or institution in one country to be accepted by the quality assurance institutions of a different country. As a result of it, both the recognition of higher education qualifications and the mobility of students and graduates improve.
ANECA has signed mutual recognition agreements with several European Agencies within the ECA framework. Besides, in 2010 we have signed a Multilateral Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Accreditation Results regarding Joint Programmes (MULTRA) with the following Agencies: FHR and ÖAR (Austria), CTI (France), NVAO (The Netherlands and Flanders) and PKA (Poland). In Latin America ANECA has also started to work towards mutual recognition of accreditation results together with SINAES, the Agency from Costa Rica.
