Institutional Accreditation

Royal Decree 420/2015, of 29 May, established the institutional accreditation of faculties/schools as an alternative to the official university degree accreditation system.

The publication of Royal Decree 640/2021 reinforces the role of institutional accreditation, extending it to Doctoral Programs. It establishes an initial phase of institutional accreditation and the renewal of this accreditation within six years.

For this purpose, the synergies between the accreditation of Bachelor's and Master's degrees (which in ANECA is carried out through the ACREDITA  procedure) and the internal quality assurance system implementation certification process will be taken advantage of. ANECA certifies the implementation of these systems through the AUDIT  procedure.
