Assessment for recognition of equivalence of the curriculum for National Police Force Inspector with the Master's Degree

Regulations and Scope

The  The Order of the Ministry of Education of 18 April 2000 ( application/pdf 31.94 kB )   stipulates that the post of Inspector of the Spanish National Police Force is equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree. The restructuring of official higher education programmes and degrees envisaged in Organic Law 4/2007, which modifies Organic Law 6/2001 on Universities, has made it necessary that information regarding the qualifications of Inspectors in the future must adapt to the demands of the European Higher Education Area before equivalence with the Master's Degree can be granted.

In this light, ANECA, as requested by the Ministry of Education Sub-Directorate General for Academic Coordination and Legal System has measured the correspondence between the qualifications for Inspector of the Spanish National Police Force and the academic level required in Master's Degree programmes. The above appraisal is conducted by the Committees tasked to assess the official university degrees in the course of ANECA's VERIFICA Programme.

Following ANECA's appraisal of the Master's Degree programme proposal, the Government has published  Order EDU/3125/2011 ( application/pdf 153.89 kB )   which sets forth the equivalence between the training for Inspector of the Spanish National Police Force and the academic level of Master's Degree. In the same Order, monitoring and assessment of this qualification is entrusted to ANECA.
