ANECA and EOI sign a Collaboration Agreement

The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and Spain's School for Industrial Organization (EOI) have signed a cooperation agreement under which the Agency will perform advisory and evaluation services, as well as provide training and propagate a culture of quality throughout EOI's educational offerings.  The agreement was signed by Zulima Fernández, Director of ANECA, and Alfonso González Hermoso de Mendoza, General Director of the EOI Foundation.

On April 27, the Minister of Education, Ángel Gabilondo, the Director of ANECA Zulima Fernández and the representative of the European Commission, Robin Van IJperen inaugurated the international seminar on Quality Assurance in Higher Education.  Interaction between key players in the ALCUE Common Area of Higher Education was organized by ANECA, as part of the events being held under the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.

During his speech, Gabilondo commented that "quality always implies cooperation and collaboration" and it cannot exist without transparency.  He also expressed an interest in the conclusions reached at the seminar, which he will be bringing up at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of Education of the European Union in Brussels.

Five universities will be hosting the 2010 quality conferences

Four public universities and one private university have been chosen to hold this year's Meetings on Quality in Higher Education.  Out of a total of nine universities that were candidates for hosting the fourth event, the following five were chosen:  Universidad Antonio Nebrija, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Universidad de Oviedo, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.


ANECA is the first European agency to be recognized by the INQAAHE

The technical secretary of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies (INQAAHE), comprised of over 200 institutions from around the world, has certified that ANECA carries out its activities in accordance with the Guidelines of Good Practice that have been defined by this international organization since 2006.  With this recognition, the Agency has become the first European agency to be certified by the INQAAHE.
